Twenty One Pilots have achieved remarkable success with the release of their latest LP, “Clancy,” which has made a significant global impact and set records for rock albums in 2024. The album debuted in the U.S. with 143,000 units sold in its first week, a notable accomplishment for the Columbus, OH duo of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun. Of these, over 113,000 were pure album sales, securing the top position on Billboard’s Top Album Sales, Top Rock Albums, Vinyl Albums, and Indie Store Album Sales charts.
“Clancy” also claimed the #2 spot on Billboard’s Top Alternative Albums and Top Rock & Alternative Albums charts, and reached #3 on the Billboard 200, marking the highest debut of the week and the band’s fourth consecutive Top 3 debut on this chart. The album’s global appeal is evident, amassing over 100 million streams worldwide in its first week and achieving Top 3 debuts in the U.K., Canada, New Zealand, Belgium, The Netherlands, Ireland, and Austria. Additionally, it secured #1 debuts in Australia, Germany, and Scotland.
Co-produced by Tyler Joseph and Paul Meany, “Clancy” represents the final chapter in a multi-album narrative that began with the band’s 2015 multi-platinum breakthrough, “Blurryface.” The album features tracks such as “The Craving (single version),” “Backslide,” “Next Semester,” and “Overcompensate,” the latter of which hit #1 on the Alternative Radio chart, marking their 11th #1 in this format and drawing listeners back into the band’s immersive ‘Trench’ world.
This summer, Twenty One Pilots will embark on The Clancy World Tour, their largest headline tour to date. Having already sold nearly one million tickets across 75 shows, the tour will kick off with a two-night performance at Denver, CO’s Ball Arena on August 15th and 16th. Produced by Live Nation, the tour will traverse North America before moving to New Zealand, Australia, Latin America, Europe, and the United Kingdom.
In addition to their touring success, Twenty One Pilots recently received 20 new Platinum and Gold certifications from the RIAA for songs and albums from their catalog.
