K-pop sensation Red Velvet has marked their milestone tenth anniversary with the release of their latest mini-album, ‘Cosmic’. Released today (June 24), the album features a vibrant blend of dance-pop tracks, including the lead single and its accompanying music video inspired by the 2019 horror film Midsommar.
The music video explores the group’s journey as they immerse themselves in a rural community, resonating with the album’s theme of cosmic love and adventure. “Love is Cosmic / I’m riding on your rhythm / Through the solar system / Come with me / You and I, crossing the night / Cosmic love,” sing the quartet on the funky, disco-influenced title track.
Alongside ‘Cosmic’, the mini-album includes five new songs: ‘Sunflower’, ‘Last Drop’, ‘Love Arcade’, ‘Bubble’, and ‘Night Drive’. Member Seulgi described the album’s melodies and harmonies as expansive as the universe, evoking the coolness of a summer night.
Red Velvet has also announced their ‘Happiness: My Dear, ReVe1uv’ Asia tour for 2024, beginning with a two-night spectacle in Seoul this August. The tour will also visit Bangkok, Jakarta, Manila, and Macau, showcasing their global popularity and enduring appeal.
