Fort Loramie, OH — Wyatt McCubbin, a native of nearby Selma, Ohio, is gearing up for a memorable homecoming at the annual Country Concert, where he will grace the stage for two opening-night performances on July 11. This marks McCubbin’s fourth appearance at the renowned three-day music festival, known for its stellar lineup and vibrant atmosphere.
McCubbin’s evening will commence with a 5 p.m. performance on the Dr. Pepper VIP Stage, followed by a second set at 9:15 p.m. on the C4 Energy Saloon Stage. The 29-year-old artist expressed enthusiasm about showcasing new music to his dedicated fanbase amidst the festival’s bustling schedule.
“We’re kicking off the whole thing on Thursday night with arguably one of the best lineups I’ve ever seen at Country Concert. I’m 100 percent fired up to be there,” McCubbin shared in a recent interview with AIM Media Midwest. “This year’s lineup is seriously incredible, and there are a lot of my friends I’m excited to see.”
Thursday’s Main Stage will feature performances by artists such as Cody Johnson, Riley Green, Trace Adkins, and Jo Dee Messina, several of whom have recorded McCubbin’s songs. The following night promises more excitement with Lainey Wilson and Dustin Lynch, both known for their renditions of McCubbin’s compositions, gracing the main stage.
“For a long time, I was writing music for other people — I can get away with doing a cover without it being a cover, which is equally as cool seeing fans singing along to that — but this is a new phenomenon for me in this season of finally putting my music out. As an artist myself, that’s really cool. You have to give fans that music for them to know it. It just took me a while to finally make that step,” McCubbin reflected on his musical journey.
McCubbin’s catalog includes popular tracks like “This Pickup,” “All We Were Was Country,” “Keep Your Radio On,” “Fly on the Wall,” and “Honky Damn Tonk,” available on various streaming platforms. His songwriting prowess has also garnered success through collaborations with artists such as Riley Green, Cody Johnson, and Lainey Wilson, underscoring his impact on the country music scene.
As he prepares to take the stage in Fort Loramie, McCubbin looks back on his musical evolution, which began in his teenage years in Ohio, and anticipates a memorable reunion with his local and national fanbase at Country Concert.
