Taylor Swift encountered some humorous interruptions during her acoustic set in Milan, Italy, over the weekend, on Saturday and Sunday (July 13-14).
During her performance at San Siro Stadium, Swift had an unexpected encounter with a bug. “Swallowed another one,” she quipped to the supportive crowd on Saturday night. Acknowledging the numerous insects around, she added, “I knew it would happen ’cause there’s so many bugs here tonight.” Swift paused briefly to cough before continuing her mashup of “I Almost Do” and “The Moment I Knew” from her Red era.
The previous night, Swift had performed an acoustic mashup of “The 1” and “Wonderland” on guitar, sharing that it was her first time including “The 1” in the acoustic section. This song, the opener of her album Folklore, was previously part of her main Eras Tour set list but was replaced to feature selections from her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, which has topped the Billboard 200 albums chart for 12 weeks.
On Sunday, another surprise awaited Swift when she encountered issues with her piano during a mashup of “Getaway Car” and “Out of the Woods.” “You know what, we finally broke it. We have finally broken this thing,” she joked as a technician assisted her. After struggling to close the piano’s top, she triumphantly declared, “I did it!” and resumed her performance with a smile.
Fans also noted planned surprises in Milan, as Swift debuted three new costumes for her Eras Tour: dresses for her Fearless and Tortured Poets eras on Saturday, and a new gown for the Speak Now segment on Sunday.
