Country music superstar Carrie Underwood has arrived in Hawaii for two highly anticipated concerts this weekend. The visit is marked by significant honors, as Mayor Rick Blangiardi and DBEDT Director James Tokioka issued a special proclamation in recognition of Underwood’s musical achievements and her positive influence on communities. They also declared Thursday as Carrie Underwood Day in both the state and county, a first for a major artist.

Underwood will perform at the Blaisdell Center in Honolulu on Friday and Saturday, marking her debut in Hawaii. “Hawaii is the 50th state I’ll have done a concert in. It’s definitely a special bucket list moment for me. Maybe we saved the best for last?” Underwood said, expressing her excitement. She also noted that many of her band and crew members have brought their families along to enjoy the state’s beauty.

In addition to celebrating her concerts, Underwood took time to acknowledge the ongoing recovery efforts in Lahaina, reflecting on the first responders’ bravery and the community’s resilience following the devastating 2023 wildfires. “The effects of the wildfires will be felt for years, but the bravery of the first responders and the community’s efforts to rebuild are truly inspirational,” she stated.
