Machine Gun Kelly and Jelly Roll Unveil Video for John Denver-Inspired Track “Lonely Road”

Machine Gun Kelly and Jelly Roll have released the video for their latest collaboration, “Lonely Road,” a tribute to John Denver’s classic “Take Me Home, Country Roads.”

In a social media post, MGK revealed the extensive process behind the track, stating, “We worked on ‘Lonely Road’ for two years, through eight studios across four countries, changing the key four times. This Friday, you’ll hear that we finally got it right.”

The music video, featuring MGK and Jelly Roll alongside their partners Megan Fox and Bunnie XO, portrays the artists as struggling car mechanics. The storyline unfolds with MGK devising a bank heist to support his pregnant wife, while Jelly Roll plays an ex-con determined to stay away from crime. After successfully pulling off the robbery, MGK faces incarceration but continues to receive visits from his newborn child.

The collaboration followed their joint performance at CMA Fest in June, where they performed duets of Jelly Roll’s “Need a Favor” and MGK’s “My Ex’s Best Friend,” along with a cover of the Chicks’ “There’s Your Trouble,” hinting at MGK’s interest in country music.

Jelly Roll has been prolific in recent months, collaborating with a diverse range of artists including Eminem, AJ McLean of the Backstreet Boys, Kane Brown, Lana Del Rey, and Limp Bizkit.
