Jake ‘Boaster’ Howlett, the UK Valorant esports sensation, has teamed up with San Francisco-based artist Derivakat for a new rap track titled “Comeback.” Released yesterday on Derivakat’s YouTube channel, the song is hailed as the ‘Fnatic 2024 anthem.’

In the track, Boaster, a player for Fnatic, makes his rapping debut, addressing fans with a light-hearted message: “Qualified for Valorant Champions and busted this song out. Please go easy on me.” He also notes, “If you listen to the bit before I start the rap, you can hear [one of Boaster’s teammates] Leo going beast mode.”

The release of “Comeback” coincides with Fnatic’s recent victory over BLG in their opening match of Valorant Champions 2024, held in Seoul. Derivakat expressed excitement about the release, stating, “Comeback release day AND I got to watch Fnatic win their first Champs match in person? Could this day get any better, omg.”

Boaster’s mother, Susan, also praised the song on Twitter, calling it a “great song” and expressing her pride as “Mumma Boaster.” This is not Boaster’s first venture into music; he was featured in the Valorant Champions 2022 music video “Fire Again” and gained attention in 2021 for a viral video of him singing in Mandarin.

In July, Fnatic made history as the first team from the VCT EMEA league to qualify for Valorant Champions 2024, and they further solidified their dominance by winning Stage 2 of the Valorant VCT EMEA 2024, following their Stage 1 victory in May.
