Country singer Megan Moroney has confirmed that she had a past connection with Morgan Wallen, but clarified that it was not a formal relationship. In a recent appearance on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast, Moroney opened up about her interactions with the country music star.
When asked by Cooper if she dated Wallen, Moroney responded, “Never exclusively. It was never a relationship.” She elaborated that they met in 2020, prior to the release of Wallen’s record-breaking album Dangerous, while she was still in university. “We have been friends for a long time; we were not just friends, and now we are friends,” she added.
Morgan Wallen has become a prominent figure in the music industry, with his 2023 hit “Last Night” topping charts in the US. His collaboration with Post Malone on “I Had Some Help” also made waves, becoming the longest-running Billboard number-one song of 2024.
While Moroney discussed her past with Wallen, she chose not to reveal whether her song “Tennessee Orange” is inspired by him. “I will not say who my songs are about ever,” she stated firmly.
