Chicago has announced a new series of North American tour dates for 2024, set to begin on October 22. Tickets for the tour will go on sale to the general public this Friday, August 9. This announcement follows the band’s recent revelation of their highly anticipated concert album, Chicago At The John F. Kennedy Center For The Performing Arts, Washington D.C. (9/16/1971), scheduled for release on September 27 through Rhino Records.

The forthcoming album will be available in multiple formats including 4LP, 3CD, and digital editions from Rhino.com. This 26-track live recording, captured on September 16, 1971—shortly after the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts opened in Washington, D.C.—has remained largely unreleased for over five decades, with the exception of the track “Goodbye,” which was featured on Chicago: VI Decades Live in 2018.

The concert features over two hours of live music from the original lineup of Chicago, including Robert Lamm (keyboard, vocals), Terry Kath (guitar, vocals), Peter Cetera (vocals, bass), Danny Seraphine (drums), Lee Loughnane (trumpet, vocals), James Pankow (trombone), and Walt Parazaider (woodwinds, vocals). The performance showcases material from all three studio albums released by Chicago up to that point, highlighting the band’s versatility across various musical styles. The setlist includes energetic rock tracks such as “25 Or 6 To 4” and “I’m A Man,” poignant ballads like “Colour My World” and “Beginnings,” jazz-influenced pieces such as “Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?,” and extended suites including “Ballet For A Girl In Buchannon” and “It Better End Soon.”

Currently, Chicago is co-headlining the Heart & Soul Tour with Earth, Wind & Fire, with the final show of this tour scheduled to take place in Palm Desert, California, on September 7.
