Lauryn Hill and The Fugees’ highly anticipated celebratory tour has been abruptly cancelled, just days before its scheduled start. Ticket holders were informed of the cancellation via a message from Live Nation on August 6, stating, “Your event has been cancelled. A refund will be on its way to your account soon.” The message did not provide a reason for the abrupt cancellation.

The tour was set to commence on August 9 in Tampa, Florida, and was planned to continue throughout the summer months. However, the European leg of the tour, which includes performances in Manchester on October 12 and London on October 14, appears to be proceeding as scheduled.

This tour was intended to mark the 25th anniversary of The Fugees’ critically acclaimed album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. It was also to feature music from The Fugees’ The Score, with Hill’s son YG Marley slated as the support act.

The Miseducation Anniversary Tour had previously been postponed in November when Hill announced she was dealing with significant vocal strain. In a November Instagram post, Hill explained, “As many of you may know, I’ve been battling serious vocal strain for the past month. I made it through each show by taking prescribed prednisone, but this can be detrimental to the body when taken in large amounts over long periods of time. In order to prevent any long-term negative effect on my voice and my body, I need to take time off to allow for real vocal recovery.”

Fans will be eagerly awaiting further updates regarding the European dates and any additional information on rescheduling or refunds for the cancelled shows.
