Country music star Luke Combs delivered a sold-out performance at NRG Stadium in Houston on Saturday night, with NFL quarterback CJ Stroud in the audience. Prior to the concert, Stroud made a memorable impression by presenting Combs with a customized Texans jersey.
During the event, Combs invited Stroud and Texans owner Cal McNair on stage, creating a standout moment for the second-year quarterback. Stroud, who is aiming to elevate the Texans’ performance after a stellar rookie season, appreciated the unique experience.
In his debut NFL season, Stroud accumulated 4,108 passing yards, 23 touchdowns, and only five interceptions, achieving a 63.9% completion rate. He led the Texans to an AFC South title and a playoff victory over the Cleveland Browns.
The Texans recently concluded their second preseason game with a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Stroud played the first series, connecting with Tank Dell for a 34-yard touchdown, finishing 2-for-4 with 41 yards and a touchdown. The Texans will begin their regular season on September 8th against the Indianapolis Colts, who will have Anthony Richardson returning as their starting quarterback.
