Musicians typically focus on promoting one song at a time, especially when targeting radio airplay. The conventional wisdom suggests that radio programmers and DJs concentrate on one track, moving on to the next once the initial song’s momentum fades. However, some superstars are exceptions to this rule, with enough popularity to successfully push multiple tracks simultaneously.
Jelly Roll is proving to be one of those rare artists. This week, he has two songs climbing Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, one of the most competitive radio charts in the United States. Unlike the usual pattern where one song rises while another falls, both of Jelly Roll’s tracks are on the ascent.
Leading the charge is his collaboration with Dustin Lynch, titled “Chevrolet.” The song has become a significant hit on country radio, advancing to a new peak of No. 7, up from No. 10 last week. Simultaneously, Jelly Roll’s solo track “I Am Not Okay” is also gaining traction. The single moves up one spot to No. 16, marking its highest position since its release.
Throughout his career, Jelly Roll has managed to send just six songs to the Country Airplay chart. Remarkably, two of those tracks are currently climbing the ranks, expanding his reach to an ever-growing audience.
