Joey Allen, guitarist for the rock band Warrant, has expressed his disappointment with the lukewarm reception of the band’s newer material. In a recent appearance on the “On the Road to Rock With Clint Switzer” podcast, Allen discussed the challenges of integrating new songs into their setlists.

Allen explained that Warrant’s extensive catalog of classic hits from their early albums often overshadows their newer work. “When you’ve got a catalog with hits from way back, and people are familiar with the first two records, introducing something completely new can be met with confusion,” he said. “Fans often react with, ‘What’s that?’ and it can be disheartening.”

Despite his enthusiasm for performing songs from Warrant’s latest album, Louder Harder Faster (2017), Allen admitted it is challenging to see fans not engaging with the new material. “It’s a hard pill to swallow,” he confessed. “When you’re on stage and you see a lack of reaction to new music, it’s a bitter pill to take.”

Warrant is set for an extensive tour in 2024, which will run through December. The tour will feature a series of shows with Firehouse and Great White, as well as several performances alongside Bret Michaels.
