Sabrina Carpenter experienced a startling incident at the Outside Lands festival in San Francisco over the weekend. During her headlining set on Saturday, the 25-year-old pop star was struck by a firework while dancing to the outro music.
Following her performance, Carpenter thanked the audience and moved to the back of the stage as fireworks lit up the sky behind her. Unfortunately, she was too close to the pyrotechnics and was hit by sparks from the display. Video footage shows Carpenter reacting with alarm, shrieking and running away from the stage before quickly exiting and screaming.
Despite the unsettling event, Carpenter did not address the incident in her social media post. She shared a carousel of photos from the festival, including a highlight performance of Nancy Sinatra’s “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’” with surprise guest Kacey Musgraves.
“Headlined @outsidelands,” Carpenter captioned the post. “Thank you to everyone who came. Special thanks to the angel that is @spaceykacey for coming out to sing and dance to Nancy Sinatra with me :’) Thank you to my whole team and crew, and all the talented people who made this show happen on and off stage. I love you all so much.”
Carpenter, who is currently dating Irish actor Barry Keoghan, is preparing for the release of her new album, Short n’ Sweet, scheduled for August 23.
