Frank Carter will join Sex Pistols’ Paul Cook, Glen Matlock, and Steve Jones for a highly anticipated concert at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town. This performance follows three sold-out fundraising shows at Bush Hall in West London, where the band played the Pistols’ seminal 1977 album Never Mind The B******’* in its entirety.
Steve Jones commented on the success of the Bush Hall concerts, stating, “The response has been overwhelming, and it’s been a privilege to support a local venue like Bush Hall. It’s clear that many more fans want to see us, and playing with Frank has been such a pleasure that we decided to extend the tour. Kentish Town, here we come.”
Tickets for the Kentish Town show will go on general sale on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 9 a.m. via Live Nation.
Frank Carter and Steve Jones first connected during an interview on Jones’s radio show in 2008. Carter expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming concert, saying, “This has been a joy from start to finish. When the Sex Pistols call, you answer. I’m very excited to be a part of it.”
Paul Cook added, “We’re doing this benefit for Bush Hall with the famous Frank Carter. We’re playing Pistols numbers to support the venue, which is crucial for keeping it open. As someone who grew up in Shepherd’s Bush and still lives around here, it would be a real shame to see it disappear. We want to keep it going, so come to the gig!”
Steve Jones humorously remarked, “If it all goes wrong, it’s Paul’s f****** fault.”
Bassist Glen Matlock echoed the sentiment, stating, “I tend to agree with Steve. Smaller music venues are the lifeblood of new music. They provide a space for raw talent to shine, where bands can connect with audiences, and where the spirit of live music truly comes alive. We need to support these venues.”
The concert at the O2 Forum Kentish Town promises to be a significant event, combining the legacy of the Sex Pistols with the energy of Frank Carter, all while supporting a beloved local venue.
