Italian black-thrash metal pioneers Necrodeath have announced their decision to disband after one final album and a farewell tour in 2025. This tour will mark the culmination of their 40-year career.
In the coming 18 months, the band will celebrate their legacy with the release of a new full-length album under Time To Kill Records. They will also embark on what is expected to be their last tour, scheduled to run from January to December 2025.
Frontman Flegias stated, “Following a prolific career and hundreds of concerts, we decided to stop here to make room for new up-and-coming acts and enjoy a well-deserved rest. We are aware that this news is disappointing to our most loyal fans, but it may also satisfy those who felt we should have ended after our first demo tape. We will say goodbye with one last album and a series of farewell concerts.”
Drummer Peso reflected on the band’s journey, noting, “We don’t last forever! I’m sure we’ve said everything we had to say, for better or worse. For 40 years, we’ve lived the underground scene without compromising our values, even if it might have been advantageous to be more accommodating at times. But this is the story of Necrodeath—a group of friends who have always played with passion, coherence, and dignity. See you around for one last time.”
Further details about the new album, tour dates, and additional updates on Necrodeath’s final activities will be announced soon.
