The MTV Video Music Awards have announced that Halsey and Lenny Kravitz will join the lineup of performers for the 2024 event, scheduled to take place in New York City on September 11.
In addition to Halsey and Kravitz, who will take the stage alongside Benson Boone and Blackpink’s Lisa, previously announced performers include Sabrina Carpenter, Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, Rauw Alejandro, and GloRilla. All these artists are also up for awards this year.
Halsey will showcase a track from her anticipated fifth studio album, while Lenny Kravitz, nominated for Best Rock, will perform live for the first time in 25 years. Lisa, who has received four nominations, will make her solo debut on the main stage, and Boone, nominated for three awards including Best New Artist, will also perform.
Leading this year’s VMA nominations is Taylor Swift with 10 nods, followed by Post Malone with nine. Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande each have six nominations.
Katy Perry will be honored with the prestigious Video Vanguard Award and will perform at the VMAs for the first time in seven years, delivering some of her greatest hits. She joins a distinguished list of past recipients including Missy Elliott, Rihanna, Beyoncé, and last year’s honoree, Shakira.
Originally set for September 10, the 2024 VMAs have been rescheduled to September 11 due to the US presidential debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.
