On August 29, the Manship Theater will host an evening of country, blues, folk, and Americana music featuring six Black musicians as part of The Black Opry Revue.
The event, titled “The Show,” will highlight a variety of artists sharing their unique songs and stories. Among the performers is Nashville’s emerging country star Julie Williams, whose lyrics reflect her mixed-race background in the South. Tylar Bryant will offer a distinctive blend of traditional country with modern influences, including elements of rap and R&B.
The lineup also includes Denitia, known for her fusion of country, alternative rock, and indie; Leon Timbo, an Americana and folk artist; and Jett Holden, a Black, queer artist whose music delves into themes of identity, love, and resilience.
The two-hour performance begins at 7:30 p.m., with tickets priced between $20 and $50 available online. All attendees, regardless of age, are required to have a ticket.
