Miranda Lambert, the fiery country music icon who first set the scene ablaze with her 2005 debut Kerosene, continues to prove she hasn’t lost her edge. Now 40, the “Mama’s Broken Heart” singer is gearing up to release her 10th studio album, Postcards From Texas, on September 13. Promising a return to her “honky-tonk as hell” roots, Lambert gave fans a sneak peek of what’s to come during a surprise pop-up show in Austin.
On Friday, August 23, Lambert thrilled a select group of about 200 lucky fans at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q in Austin, Texas, with an intimate and electrifying performance. The multi-GRAMMY winner took the stage to promote her upcoming album, delivering live renditions of fan favorites like “Alimony,” “Dammit Randy,” and the album’s lead single, “Wranglers.”
However, the highlight of the night was Lambert’s debut of an unreleased track, “B–ch On the Sauce (Just Drunk),” a song packed with her signature blend of wit and unapologetic storytelling. With its sharp lyrics and honky-tonk flair, the song was an instant hit with the crowd, further fueling anticipation for her forthcoming album.
Lambert’s Austin performance was a reminder that she remains one of country music’s most dynamic and authentic voices, with plenty of fire left to burn.
