Country singer Tenille Townes has officially parted ways with Sony Nashville after nearly seven years under the label. Despite her significant success in Canada, where she has won 15 Canadian Country Music Association Awards over the past five years, Townes struggled to achieve the same level of recognition in the United States.
In 2020, Townes won the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Award for New Female Artist of the Year, a major milestone in her career. She also earned a second ACM Award that year as a featured artist on Miranda Lambert’s remake of “Fooled Around and Fell in Love,” which was honored as the Music Event of the Year. However, despite these achievements, her Stateside career never quite reached the heights many had anticipated.
As Townes moves on from Sony Nashville, fans and industry insiders alike will be watching closely to see where her journey takes her next.
