Country music icon Josh Turner is set to bring his powerful baritone voice and a string of chart-topping hits to Prescott this September. Fans can still grab tickets for what promises to be a memorable performance on Friday, September 20, at 7 p.m., when Turner’s “Greatest Hits Tour” rolls into the Jim & Linda Lee Performing Arts Center.
A native of South Carolina, Turner first captured the country music scene’s attention in 2004 with his debut album, Long Black Train. The album’s title track resonated deeply with audiences, spending an impressive 40 weeks on Billboard’s Country Music charts. Turner’s breakout success earned him nominations for the Academy of Country Music’s Best New Artist and the Country Music Association’s Horizon Award and Song of the Year.
Turner’s sophomore album, Your Man (2006), further solidified his place in country music. The album’s title track and the single “Would You Go with Me” both soared to the top of the country charts, earning Turner Grammy nominations for Best Male Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Album.
In 2007, Turner’s contributions to the genre were recognized with his induction into the Grand Ole Opry. Since then, he has continued to make his mark with a blend of gospel and mainstream hits, including fan favorites like “Firecracker” and “Time is Love.”
