Taylor Swift continued her reign as a powerhouse at the MTV Video Music Awards, clinching a total of seven awards, including the coveted Video of the Year trophy.
During her acceptance speech on Wednesday night, Swift expressed her gratitude to her “boyfriend, Travis,” referring to NFL star Travis Kelce, who had supported her during the production of the “Fortnight” music video. The mention elicited enthusiastic cheers from the audience.
“Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic,” Swift remarked, before turning her attention to the 2024 presidential election. She encouraged fans over the age of 18 to register to vote.
While Swift endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential bid on Tuesday, shortly after Harris’ debate with former President Donald Trump, she chose not to address Harris’ campaign directly during her VMAs appearance.
