Sean “Diddy” Combs, the renowned American rapper and music producer, was arrested in New York on Monday following an indictment by a grand jury. The specific charges leading to Combs’ arrest have not yet been disclosed.
Damian Williams, attorney for the Southern District of New York, stated, “We expect to move to unseal the indictment in the morning and will have more to say at that time.”
In response, Combs’ attorney Marc Agnifilo criticized the decision to pursue what he termed an “unjust prosecution” against the music mogul. Agnifilo described Combs as a “music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist” who has dedicated decades to building his career and supporting his community.
Agnifilo emphasized Combs’ cooperation with the investigation, noting that he had voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of the charges. “Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts,” Agnifilo urged. “These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”
