Sean Combs has been denied bail and will remain in federal detention following his recent court appearance. The rapper, who entered a not guilty plea to charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution, faced a setback in his legal battle.

Combs’ legal team proposed a home detention arrangement with a $50 million bond secured by his Miami property. Despite this, Judge Robyn Tarnofsky rejected the bail request. She expressed concerns about the nature of the alleged crimes, noting that they often occur behind closed doors, even with monitoring by pretrial services. The judge indicated she was not convinced that Combs would appear in court if released.

Following the denial, Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, announced plans to appeal the decision. “He’s going to clear his name, and we’re going to stand by his side as he does,” Agnifilo stated. “We believe in him wholeheartedly.”

The bail appeal is scheduled for Wednesday in the same New York court, but it will be heard by a different judge. Agnifilo remarked, “All we can do is show good faith. We’ll make it as much as we can until we get him out.”

The federal indictment against Combs alleges that he operated a “criminal enterprise” through his business empire, involving crimes such as sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.
