Zayn Malik is set to embark on his inaugural solo tour this autumn, marking his first concert series since leaving One Direction in 2015. The tour, titled “Stairway To The Sky,” supports his fourth solo album, Room Under The Stairs, which was released in May.
The tour kicks off in the United States, starting with a performance in San Francisco on October 23. Zayn will perform in several cities, including Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C., before wrapping up the North American leg in New York City on November 2.
Following the U.S. shows, Zayn will head to the UK for six performances, beginning in Edinburgh on November 20. His UK tour will also include stops in Leeds, Manchester, London, and Wolverhampton, culminating in a final show in Newcastle on December 3.
Zayn made the surprise announcement during a skit on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on September 17, and he took to social media to express his excitement about touring again. “Appreciate your patience, love, and support. Can’t wait to enjoy great music together. This time I really mean soon. See you in 35 days…” he posted on Instagram.
Earlier this year, Zayn performed his first live gig in support of his album at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire. He had originally planned to tour in 2016 but canceled due to “the worst anxiety of my career.” At that time, he shared, “I have been working over the last three months to overcome my extreme anxiety around major live solo performances.”
