Kris Kristofferson, the legendary country music singer-songwriter and acclaimed actor known for his role in A Star Is Born, died on Saturday at his home in Maui, Hawaii. He was 88 years old. While no cause of death has been disclosed, his family reported that he passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones.
In a heartfelt statement, his family shared, “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our husband, father, and grandfather, Kris Kristofferson, on Saturday, Sept. 28. We’re all so blessed for our time with him. Thank you for loving him all these many years. When you see a rainbow, know he’s smiling down at us all.” This tribute was made on behalf of Kristofferson’s wife, Lisa, his eight children, and his seven grandchildren.
