Doug Mathis, a renowned country artist known for his soulful voice and vivid storytelling, has used his music to uplift and inspire, especially within the autistic community. Beginning his career in the 1980s, Mathis first performed at Opryland USA in Nashville, Tennessee, home of the iconic Grand Ole Opry. During his time there, he starred in the Country Music USA show for three years and served as the lead vocalist for “The Cumberland Boys,” Opryland’s esteemed gospel quartet, for four years.
After his time at Opryland, Mathis transitioned into ministry, dedicating over 25 years to pastoral work as a worship leader and senior pastor. His journey then led him to Positive Country music, where he has thrived as an artist under 2by2 Records based in Nashville. Throughout his career, Mathis has achieved significant success, with eight number-one hits, including “When He Calls My Name,” “Love Somebody,” “King of Love,” “God’s Got a Plan,” “A Million Miles,” “Raise Up a Warrior,” “How Great Thou Art,” and “It’s a God Thang!”
