The Late Late Show on RTÉ has canceled plans to broadcast a cover of Garth Brooks’ song “Friends In Low Places” following recent rape and sexual assault allegations against the country music icon. The performance was initially set to be part of the show’s annual Country Music Special, which was recorded at RTÉ’s headquarters in Donnybrook on Thursday.

As news of the allegations emerged, show organizers made the decision to remove the song from the lineup. “The bosses had a decision to make when the story broke online, so after weighing it up they decided to drop plans to perform the song,” an RTÉ source told the Sunday Independent.

The Grammy-winning artist has denied the allegations, which were brought forward in a lawsuit filed by a former employee, identified as “Jane Roe.” The lawsuit accuses Brooks of rape, sexual assault, and battery, with claims that the incident occurred while the woman was working as a hair and makeup artist for him in the United States.
