Lasheena Weekly, mother of the late rapper FBG Duck, has filed a lawsuit seeking damages from rapper Lil Durk, his record label, the Gold Coast store where the incident occurred, and the city, following the fatal 2020 shooting that claimed her son’s life. The suit, which was filed on Wednesday, also includes claims from two bystanders who were present during the shooting.

Weekly described her struggle for justice as “long and painful,” reflecting on the tragic loss of her son, whose real name was Carlton Weekly. FBG Duck was killed on August 4, 2020, when four gunmen opened fire in under 30 seconds while he was shopping in Chicago’s Gold Coast area. He was shot 16 times while shopping for his son, and two others—a woman and a man—were also injured.
