Lonely Dirt Road has quickly gained traction, accumulating over 337,000 views and climbing YouTube’s trending chart. The track’s poignant chorus—“When I need space that’s where I go / A place to escape that nobody knows / Where I feel free to let things go / And face this evil that burdens my soul”—speaks to the struggles of mental health and finding solace in solitude. Fans have already flooded the video with more than 3,600 comments and 30,000 likes.
A longtime advocate for mental health awareness, Dax has been recognized by researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for addressing the often-overlooked issue of men’s mental health. “Dax’s lyrics and our research reflect an enduring social health challenge—the deafening silence that typically surrounds men’s mental health,” they noted.
Directed by Logan Meis, the video for Lonely Dirt Road follows the success of Dax’s recent God’s Eye (Remix), which features an impressive roster of collaborators and has surpassed two million views on YouTube.
