Country music icon Dolly Parton expressed her unwavering affection for the genre, reflecting on its evolution over the years. A 10-time Grammy winner and 2022 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Parton reminisced about the pioneers of country music, including legends like Hank Williams, George Jones, and Merle Haggard.
“I will always love country music,” she stated, honoring the artists who shaped the genre. Acknowledging the significant changes within country music, Parton emphasized that while the sound has evolved—often incorporating elements of rock and pop—its essence will endure. “There will always be young people who connect with Hank Williams and explore that sound,” she noted, promising that “country music is going to always exist in one form or another. I’m going to see to it as long as I live.”
