Country music star Dasha, a San Luis Obispo native, captivated a local crowd at Boo Boo Records. Originally scheduled for a meet-and-greet ahead of her sold-out show at SLO Brew Rock Event Center, Dasha surprised fans with an intimate acoustic concert.
“This is so cool,” Dasha shared “I love performing my songs in this format because it’s how I originally wrote them. Having my brother up there with me made it even better. We didn’t really know what we were doing, but we were just having fun.”
Dasha invited her brother, Bardo, to join her on stage. The duo co-wrote several tracks from her album, though Dasha humorously noted that she only showed him the performance details about half an hour before taking the stage. Their sibling chemistry, combined with Dasha’s engaging interaction with the audience, created an atmosphere of camaraderie that made everyone feel connected.
The surprise concert provided a special opportunity for fans who missed out on tickets for her sold-out show the following night. Dasha reflected on her experiences growing up in the record store, saying, “It’s surreal to think I used to come here as a kid, dreaming about having my own record, and now I do.”
Returning to her hometown for the first time since her rise to fame, Dasha expressed the emotional significance of the moment. “It’s crazier when it’s your hometown. It just hits different,” she remarked. “This is like extra, extra surreal.”
Dasha’s album is available for streaming and purchase at all major music platforms.
