Lady Gaga has announced her return to pop music with the release of her new single, “Disease,” marking a significant follow-up to her 2017 track “The Cure.” The singer confirmed the release date via Instagram, sharing striking cover art that features her posed face-down on the hood of a white car, with the song’s title painted upside down in street graffiti.
The following day, Gaga teased fans with a brief snippet of the official music video, accompanied by haunting piano melodies. In the song’s chorus, she sings, “I could play the doctor / I can cure your disease / If you were a sinner / I could make you believe.”
Gaga has remained active musically in 2024. In August, she collaborated with Bruno Mars on the powerful ballad “Die With A Smile,” which reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and enjoyed eight weeks at the top of the Billboard Global 200. Additionally, she released Harlequin, a companion soundtrack for Joker: Folie à Deux, in which she stars alongside Joaquin Phoenix as Harley Quinn. This album features her unique interpretations of jazz and musical theater classics, debuting at No. 1 on the Jazz Albums chart and including the original track “Happy Mistake,” produced by BloodPop.
