Westside Gunn has officially released his highly anticipated album Still Praying, following his Halloween project 11 (the art piece, before the art piece). True to form, Gunn delivers his signature style with an unexpected twist, solidifying his reputation for October releases.
The album features notable guest appearances from DJ Drama, Benny The Butcher, Conway The Machine, Boldy James, Stove God Cooks, and Rome Streetz, with production contributions from Conductor Williams and Daringer. With DJ Drama narrating, Still Praying encapsulates the opulence and flair fans expect from a FLYGOD drop, showcasing Gunn’s unique blend of luxury and street life. In tracks like “Dr. Britt Baker,” he reflects on his extravagant lifestyle, describing wearing “thousand dollar swim trunks” and grappling with the challenges of being “fly as LaGuardia.”
As the week unfolds, Westside Gunn gears up for his wrestling promotion initiative, 4th Rope, set to make its mark in Chicago with the Heels Have Eyes 3 event on November 2, 2024. This entertainment extravaganza combines Gunn’s passions for wrestling, art, fashion, and music. The event will feature a Steel Praying steel cage match, pitting Joe Hendry against AJ Francis and Moose against ZILLA FATU for the 4th Rope heavyweight championship, presented by Gunn and new commissioner MVP.
Musical performances will include iconic artists such as DJ Premier and Pete Rock, alongside Statik Selektah and Rome Streetz, with additional surprise guests yet to be announced. Heels Have Eyes 3 promises to be a night to remember, blending high-octane wrestling with an electrifying musical lineup.
