As Japan’s creative content gains traction in global markets, emerging pop music singer Hibiki is poised for international stardom. She recently released the festival song “Desire” for the 37th Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF 2024), one of Asia’s most prominent film festivals.

Hailing from Kyushu in southern Japan, Hibiki began her university studies in April and co-wrote “Desire,” her debut single, which dropped on October 23. The upbeat dance track, infused with a Jersey club beat and entirely in English, showcases her emotive voice as she tackles themes of online negativity. “I know you are just a hater,” she sings, projecting strength and resilience.

With her skillful vocalization and determined presence, Hibiki embodies the image of a confident young artist ready to take on the global stage. As she continues to develop her craft, her journey in the music industry is one to watch.
