The Worried Men are gearing up for an electrifying performance at Taunton’s Blues-Rock Music Night, scheduled for November 9 at CICCIC, Memorial Hall.
Fronted by guitarist and vocalist Jamie Thyer, the band has garnered attention with their album Excelsior!, which was named Record of the Week on Radio Caroline. Thyer boasts an impressive career, having shared the stage with notable artists including Robert Cray, Johnny Winter, Nine Below Zero, and Peter Green.
Reflecting on their unique place in the music scene, Thyer stated, “In this modern age of tawdry, vulgar values, we probably appear like the last of the steam locomotives. When you see us, you see how a real blues-rock band goes to work. Come and feel the breath of the beast on your face.”
The Worried Men have cultivated a devoted fan base both in the UK and internationally, bolstered by the success of their latest album.
Andrew Knutt, director of CICCIC, praised Thyer as “one of the most accomplished electric guitar players I know,” emphasizing the speed and complexity of his guitar work. “This man is truly a rock legend, and you have to see him perform to believe it,” he added.
Tickets for the event are priced at £15 in advance or £19 at the door. Doors open at 7:30 PM, with the performance set to begin at 8:15 PM.
