Oklahoma City rap music star Jabee Williams has officially released his highly anticipated major-label debut album, The Spirit Is Willing, But the Flesh Is Weak, through renowned Mello Music Group. The album reflects both the triumphs and challenges of his life, weaving personal anecdotes and community experiences into its eight tracks.
Jabee reflected on his induction into the Northwest Classen High School Hall of Fame, where he was reminded of fellow alum Skip Bayless. “Seeing his name on the wall was a highlight,” he noted, contrasting it with the struggles he’s faced, such as closing his Eastside Pizza restaurant and navigating losses in his personal life.
Despite these challenges, Jabee celebrates his successes, including the launch of LiveFree OKC and the popularity of his restaurant, Scrambl’d. His new album encapsulates this balance of highs and lows, featuring production from notable names like Conductor Williams, Apollo Brown, Marv Won, M. Stacks, and Evidence. As Jabee embarks on this new chapter with Mello Music Group, he continues to make an impact both as an artist and a community activist.
