Residents of Western North Carolina gathered for the Rock for Relief festival, a benefit event organized to support flood relief efforts in Haywood County and surrounding areas. This festival provided a much-needed space for friends and family to come together, fostering a sense of normalcy and community spirit as locals work to rebuild after recent disasters.
Rock for Relief WNC showcased over 50 bands across more than 15 venues, featuring performances from local artists such as Andrew Scotchie, who volunteered his time for the cause. “The past month has really felt like a year for a lot of people,” Scotchie remarked. “I’ve seen strangers become neighbors, reminding us all that we want to take care of one another, no matter how chaotic things may seem.”
Other notable performers included the Andrew Thelston Band, The Get Right Band, Bridget Gossett, Rene Russell, Watkins, Rich Manz Trio, and Len Graham & Paul Koptak, among many others.
The event was free to the public, with all donations directed to the Rock for Relief musician’s fund, supporting artists directly impacted by Hurricane Helene. The festival not only entertained but also served as a powerful reminder of the resilience and unity within the community.
