Cody Johnson and Carrie Underwood took a unique approach to recording their new duet, “I’m Gonna Love You”—they did it live in the studio.

While technology allows artists to record remotely, sometimes on opposite ends of the world, Johnson was determined to be hands-on for this special track. Despite the challenges of busy schedules, he made it a priority to be present when Underwood recorded her vocals.

“I don’t miss a beat in the studio,” Johnson shared with Kelleigh Bannen on Today’s Country Radio. “I’m very, very, very hands-in-the-mud on this stuff. Like, I have my fingers in all that stuff.”
