ELO’s Farewell Residency on the Las Vegas Strip Comes to an End

Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) has wrapped up its Las Vegas Strip residency, officially marking the conclusion of a chapter in the band’s legendary career. The residency, part of the band’s “Over And Out” farewell tour, coincides with their ongoing farewell trek across the U.S., which began on August 24, 2024, in Palm Desert, California.

Known for their unforgettable blend of rock, orchestral elements, and futuristic sound, ELO’s farewell tour has already taken them to various cities, culminating in their final U.S. shows on October 25, 2024, in Inglewood, California. However, fans will not be saying goodbye just yet, as the band has scheduled additional dates in the U.K. for July 2025. The final shows will take place in Birmingham, Manchester, and London, with the farewell concert set for July 13, 2025.

Despite the band’s clear intention to close this chapter, history shows that farewell tours in the rock world often don’t always stick to their original plans. ELO’s story itself is a testament to this, as the group disbanded in 1986, only to regroup in 1989 under the name ELO Part II. In 2014, Jeff Lynne revived the band as “Jeff Lynne’s ELO,” leading to highly successful tours in 2018 and 2019. Whether this farewell tour will truly mark their last performance remains to be seen, as the band’s enduring popularity leaves the door open for more possible reunions.
