Brisbane-based musician Josh Setterfield is breaking new ground with the release of his EP FALL, which blends elements of metalcore with traditional country music. The EP opens with Burning Gas, a track that Setterfield describes as “probably the heaviest country song from an Australian artist,” drawing on the intensity of metalcore and the rawness of country.
This genre-defying approach comes as no surprise given Setterfield’s musical influences, including country-rock artist HARDY and the metalcore band Parkway Drive. His bold mix of heavy guitar riffs and country storytelling showcases his willingness to push creative boundaries.
