Ringo Starr Releases “Thankful” Featuring Alison Krauss

Sir Ringo Starr

Ringo Starr has unveiled a new track titled Thankful, featuring bluegrass legend Alison Krauss. The song is the final track on Starr’s upcoming country music album, Look Up, set for release on January 10th via UMG Nashville.

This highly anticipated album marks Starr’s first venture into country music in over five decades. Look Up features 11 original songs produced by the acclaimed T. Bone Burnett and was recorded earlier this year in Nashville and Los Angeles.

The project emerged following a serendipitous meeting between Starr and Burnett in 2022. The two had first crossed paths in the 1970s, and during their reunion, Starr asked Burnett to contribute a song for an EP he was working on. Burnett not only delivered one song, but nine country tracks, which inspired Starr to embark on recording Look Up—his first full-length album since 2019.

Look Up promises to offer a fresh, rootsy sound from the former Beatle, blending his musical legacy with the timeless appeal of country music.
