Tate McRae is turning up the heat with her latest electro-pop single, “2 Hands,” released today alongside the exciting news of her upcoming album and world tour. The 21-year-old pop music star collaborated with a powerhouse team of hitmakers, including Ryan Tedder, Lostboy, and Amy Allen, to craft this sultry new track.
In “2 Hands,” McRae sings of an intense romantic connection, urging her partner to keep the physical closeness alive. The chorus, “I just want your two hands on me at all times, baby / If you let go, better put ‘em right back, fast,” sets the tone for the electro-pop anthem, which blends passion with an infectious beat. The accompanying music video, directed by Sean Bankhead (known for his work with Cardi B and Victoria Monét), takes viewers on a suburban journey that complements the song’s intimate theme.
McRae revealed that “2 Hands” shows a more vulnerable side of her, exploring the simplicity and depth of love. “The song captures the feeling of falling in love and how sometimes just being close to someone is all you really need,” she shared. “A genuine connection goes beyond needing constant reassurance or fancy things, simply being together is what matters.”
Alongside the release of her single, McRae also announced a massive 50-date world tour set to kick off in March 2024. The tour will see her traveling across North America, South America, Europe, and the UK, with Zara Larsson joining her for the Americas leg and Benee supporting in Europe and the UK. Fans can expect an unforgettable live experience from the rising pop sensation.
