After nearly three decades, Chicago’s legendary noise rock music outfit BIG’N has made a triumphant return with their third studio album, End Comes Too Soon. Released via Computer Students™, the album brings a fresh burst of chaotic energy that will captivate long-time fans and newcomers alike, showcasing the band’s enduring impact on the noise rock genre.
BIG’N, formed in 1990, quickly became an influential force in the underground scene, and their new album marks their first full-length release in 28 years. The current lineup features vocalist William Akins, guitarist Todd Johnson, bassist Fred Popolo, and drummer Brian Wnukowski. Known for their raw, abrasive sound, the band’s latest effort is no exception, delivering the fierce and uncompromising rock that fans have come to expect.
The title End Comes Too Soon was inspired by a lyric, but it has taken on a deeper, more poignant meaning following the sudden passing of influential producer Steve Albini on May 7, 2024. Although the album was completed prior to Albini’s death, the title now serves as an unintended tribute to his lasting influence on the music world, cementing the album’s emotional resonance.
With End Comes Too Soon, BIG’N proves they still have plenty of power to shake the foundations of noise rock.
