Country music singer Tommy Alverson has passed away, confirmed by his wife, Amy, in a social media post. The Texas music legend, known for his deep contributions to the genre, died in Fort Worth, Texas, surrounded by family.
While the cause of death and Alverson’s age have not been disclosed, the singer had recently undergone immunotherapy treatments to help manage his health. The American Cancer Society describes such treatments as a way to “boost or change how the immune system works so it can find and attack cancer cells.”
An official announcement from the family, shared by Galleywinter and Texas Music Daily, urged fans to respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time, while also celebrating the countless memories and friendships that Alverson created through his music.
