The Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA) has announced the winners of the 2024 CMAA Achiever Awards, which recognize outstanding contributions to Australian country music. The awards will be officially presented at a ceremony next Saturday, November 23, at JMC Academy in Sydney.
The Achiever Awards, which were revealed a day earlier than expected on November 15, honor both legacy and contemporary artists for their significant impact on the Australian country music scene. The awards are divided into two categories:
Legacy Artists, awarded to individuals who have shaped the industry for over 30 years, and Contemporary Artists, recognizing those who have excelled or contributed significantly over the past year.
This year’s Legacy Award winners include country music icons Graeme Connors and Lawrie Minson. In the Contemporary Artist category, Piper Butcher, known for her appearance on ABC Country’s Grass Roots program, and Cheryl Brown were among the honorees.
The awards ceremony, which will feature performances and an Industry Symposium, promises to be a celebration of the best in Australian country music.
