Raul Malo, lead singer of The Mavericks, has been battling cancer publicly throughout much of this year. Despite undergoing intensive chemotherapy, the country music star has largely managed to maintain the band’s tour schedule and has consistently kept fans informed about his health journey through social media updates.
In his latest post, Malo shared both hopeful and challenging news regarding his ongoing fight against the disease. He expressed gratitude for the chance to unwind with loved ones, sharing a photo alongside his family and recounting a “lovely time in Key Biscayne and Miami” following the final night of the tour. With chemotherapy behind him, Malo now looks ahead to the next crucial step: liver surgery.
