Country Music Ball Raises £23,000 for Disadvantaged Families

A country music-themed charity ball in Skipton has raised an impressive £23,000 for families in need across Yorkshire. The event, organized by the Principle Trust Children’s Charity, took place on November 16 at The Coniston Hotel and Spa, drawing 140 supporters.

The funds will support the charity’s mission of providing respite breaks for children facing hardship, including those who are underprivileged, disabled, or have experienced trauma, poverty, or life-limiting conditions.

Guests were treated to a night of entertainment, including a performance by leading Shania Twain tribute artist Madeleine Roberts and a DJ set from Ilkley radio host Nick Babb. Local businessman David Waterhouse served as the event’s host, and a fundraising auction added to the evening’s success. The Leeds-based agency 21 Degrees Digital volunteered their services to capture the event on video.

The ball, a key fundraiser for the charity each year, was supported by businesses from across Craven, Wharfedale, and The Aire Valley. The amount raised will fund more than 30 free week-long respite breaks for families in need, continuing the charity’s vital work in the community.
