Country music star JD Shelburne is spreading festive cheer with his new cover of the holiday classic “Winter Wonderland,” released in time for the season.
Shelburne, a Kentucky native, has long had a special connection to the song, calling it a family favorite since his childhood. “Growing up in Kentucky and loving Christmas music, ‘Winter Wonderland’ was always a must on my playlist each year,” Shelburne shared. “When it came time to record for the holidays in Nashville, this was one of the first songs I knew I had to do.”
Originally released in 1947, the song’s version includes additional lyrics that transformed it from a romantic winter ballad into a playful seasonal anthem about snow-filled fun. Shelburne’s rendition adds his own heartfelt touch to this timeless favorite.
The cover art for the single is also a nostalgic nod to Shelburne’s past, featuring a photo of him and his brother building a snowman together in 1988.
Shelburne’s latest project, Neon Hallelujah, is currently available for fans to enjoy.
