Lana Del Rey is set to release her highly anticipated debut country album, The Right Person Will Stay, on May 21st, 2025. The announcement comes after the pop icon revealed plans to debut material from the project at Stagecoach 2025, using the festival as a launchpad for the album’s rollout, much like Post Malone did with his country debut at Stagecoach 2023.
Initially slated for release in September 2024 under the working title Lasso, the album’s official release date has now been pushed to May 2025. The new title, The Right Person Will Stay, was unveiled in November, along with the album artwork—a striking, retro black-and-white portrait of Del Rey, with the title written below in a handwritten style.
The album will feature 13 tracks, including a cover of John Denver’s classic “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” and an original song, “Henry, Come On.” Del Rey has collaborated with a talented team of musicians for the project, including producer Jack Antonoff, country songwriters Luke Laird and Zach Dawes, and Drew Erickson.
Lana first teased the country album during a Billboard pre-Grammys event, marking a shift toward a more traditional sound for the artist known for her cinematic, melancholic pop hits like “Summertime Sadness.” The release of The Right Person Will Stay will mark a significant milestone in her career as she steps into the country genre. Fans can expect a unique blend of Del Rey’s signature style with the soulful storytelling and instrumentation of country music.
